Last Updated: 19 May 2026

When will the transfer take place?
The transfer is scheduled for 17 July 2026 (the Transfer Date). If this date changes, you will be notified in advance through official channels. No action is needed from your side right now.
What happens to my SCB accounts and products?
Everything moves across with you. Your full SCB portfolio — savings, current accounts, fixed deposits, loans, credit cards, and reward points — will be replicated at DFCC Bank as at 17 July 2026. Your balances, limits, and outstanding amounts transfer exactly as they stand.
Will there be any service downtime during the transfer?
A brief, scheduled service window is required. SCB Sri Lanka branches, CDMs, and ATMs will be unavailable from 3:00 PM on 17 July 2026. All other services, including online banking and card usage, will be unavailable from 7:00 PM on 17 July 2026 until midnight on 20 July 2026. We recommend you plan your cash and payment needs in advance. Your new DFCC Bank services will be fully live from midnight on 20 July 2026.
Do I need to visit a branch or do anything to complete the transfer?
No — the transfer happens automatically. However, we recommend that you update your contact details (mobile number, email, postal address) on your SCB profile before the transfer date, so your welcome pack and communications reach you without delay.
Is there any cost involved in transferring my account?
None at all. The transfer of your SCB portfolio to DFCC Bank is completely free of charge.
When will I receive my welcome pack?
DFCC Bank will make every effort to deliver your welcome pack before the Transfer Date. Please ensure your registered address and contact details are current with SCB so nothing is delayed.
Can I receive my welcome letter in Sinhala or Tamil?
Your welcome letter will initially be in English. If you would prefer it in Sinhala or Tamil, simply contact our 24-hour Help Desk after receiving your welcome pack and we will arrange it for you.
What customer segment will I be placed in at DFCC Bank?
Your segment at DFCC Bank will mirror your current SCB segment. See the segment mapping table below. If you wish to upgrade to Pinnacle or Prestige after the transfer, you can speak to your Relationship Manager, contact the 24-hour Help Desk, or visit any DFCC branch. NEW CUSTOMERS (no existing DFCC Bank relationship): SCB Priority Banking → DFCC Pinnacle Proposition SCB Personal Banking (Prestige eligible) → DFCC Prestige Proposition SCB Personal Banking (Partner eligible) → DFCC Partner Proposition SCB Personal Banking (Standard) → DFCC Standard Proposition EXISTING DFCC CUSTOMERS: SCB Priority Banking + any DFCC segment → DFCC Pinnacle SCB Personal Banking + DFCC Pinnacle → DFCC Pinnacle SCB Personal Banking + DFCC Prestige → DFCC Prestige SCB Personal Banking + DFCC Partner → DFCC Partner SCB Personal Banking + DFCC Plus → DFCC Plus SCB Personal Banking + DFCC Standard → DFCC Standard
What will my welcome pack contain?
Pinnacle customers will receive: a welcome letter, DFCC Pinnacle booklet, digital onboarding guide, and a DFCC Bank cheque book (if applicable). Prestige / Partner / Standard customers will receive: a welcome letter, digital onboarding guide, and a DFCC cheque book (if applicable). Your new DFCC debit and credit cards will be delivered separately. Your existing SCB cards remain active for up to 6 months from the Transfer Date.
Will my benefits change after the transfer?
Your existing SCB benefits will continue after the transfer. As you settle into your new DFCC segment, any changes to your benefits will only be in your favour — you can look forward to an enhanced experience. Benefits may include fee waivers, preferential interest rates, and lifestyle privileges. Full details by segment are available on the DFCC website.
What happens to my fees and charges?
Following the transfer, DFCC's prevailing tariff structure will apply, based on your customer segment and account relationship. Full tariff details are available at dfccbank.com.
What will happen to my open disputes or chargeback cases?
All open disputes and chargebacks will transfer to DFCC on the Transfer Date. DFCC will coordinate with SCB to resolve each case promptly after the transfer. You will not need to resubmit anything.
Will my existing SCB account and card numbers change?
A new DFCC account number will be created for you as part of the migration. However, your existing SCB account number remains active and valid throughout the lifetime of your account. You can continue using either number at your convenience. Card numbers will be updated as part of the card issuance process, with full details communicated in your welcome pack.
If I am an existing DFCC customer, how will correspondence be managed?
Before the transfer, all SCB-related correspondence will use your SCB-registered contact details. After the transfer, your DFCC-registered contact details will be used for all correspondence across every product — savings, current accounts, deposits, loans, and credit cards.
Is my personal and financial data secure during the transfer?
Completely. The security of your personal and financial information is the highest priority for both Standard Chartered Bank and DFCC Bank. All customer data is protected under strict regulatory requirements and banking confidentiality standards. Robust information security frameworks are in place at every stage of the transition — your data will only ever be used to serve and protect your interests.
How can I protect myself from phishing or fraud during the transfer?
Please be vigilant with any unsolicited communication claiming to be from either bank. Neither SCB nor DFCC will ever request sensitive information — such as passwords, PINs, or OTPs — through unsolicited emails, SMS messages, or phone calls. All legitimate transition communications will come through official, verified channels. If anything feels unusual or raises concern, please contact us immediately. Your security is non-negotiable.
My mobile number at SCB is different from the one registered at DFCC. Which number will receive my OTPs after migration?
After migration, the mobile number registered with DFCC Bank will be used for all OTP delivery. We strongly recommend verifying that your preferred mobile number is updated with DFCC before the cutover to ensure uninterrupted access. Please contact us and we will assist you right away.
How do I update my mobile number, email, or address after the transfer?
Very easily. After the transition, you can update your contact details anytime through DFCC ONE or by visiting any DFCC Bank branch at your convenience. Keeping your information current ensures you never miss any important communication from us.
Will my nominations transfer from SCB to DFCC?
Nominations do not transfer automatically. If you have placed nominations for your SCB accounts and wish to replicate them at DFCC, you will need to submit a fresh nomination form at your nearest DFCC branch after the transfer is complete. The form must be signed in the presence of two DFCC staff members as witnesses. For overseas customers, signing will take place during a video call.
For which account types can I provide a nomination?
You can place nominations for Individual Savings Accounts, Individual Fixed Deposits, and Individual Call Deposits — for both Sri Lankan Rupee and foreign currency accounts.
What documents do I need to submit with the nomination form?
A copy of the nominee's identification document must be submitted along with the nomination form.
Will my Power of Attorney (PoA) transfer from SCB to DFCC?
If your PoA is account-specific (i.e., issued for the operation of specific SCB accounts), you will need to execute a fresh PoA that includes powers to operate your new DFCC accounts. The new registered PoA must be submitted to DFCC to enable your attorney to act on your behalf.
What if my PoA is not account-specific?
Please visit any DFCC branch with the original PoA document. The DFCC team will review it and advise you whether it is acceptable for operating your new DFCC account.
Do I need to re-submit KYC documents?
No. No additional documentation is required for the transfer, unless you are specifically notified by DFCC.
What about my Withholding Tax (WHT) declaration for the financial year 2026/2027?
If you submitted a WHT declaration to SCB before the Transfer Date, it will be updated to your new DFCC accounts automatically. If not, you will need to submit a new declaration addressed to DFCC (including your new DFCC account number) at your nearest DFCC branch after the transfer.
How will I receive my WHT certificate for the financial year 2025/2026?
SCB will provide your WHT certificate for FY 2025/2026 prior to the transfer. If you need this certificate after the transfer date, simply reach out to DFCC and we will arrange it for you.
Where can I find the Terms & Conditions applicable to the transfer?
The full Terms & Conditions, General Terms and Conditions of DFCC Bank, the Cardholder Agreement, and the EFTC Declaration are all available on the DFCC website at dfccbank.com.
Can I visit a DFCC branch before the Transfer Date?
You are very welcome to. DFCC branches across the island are open and ready to assist you — whether you have questions about the transition, want to meet the team, or simply wish to familiarise yourself with our services. Until the Transfer Date, your transactional banking continues with SCB.
Where can I find DFCC branch locations?
A full list of DFCC branch locations, contact numbers, and operating hours is available at www.dfcc.lk and through our customer care line.
What are DFCC's branch operating hours?
Weekdays: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Saturday Banking (selected branches): 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
How do I find the nearest DFCC ATM or CRM?
You can locate the nearest DFCC ATM or CRM using the branch and ATM locator on the DFCC Bank website.
Will my DFCC card work at other banks' ATMs in Sri Lanka?
Yes. Your DFCC card is accepted at all local bank ATMs. Please note that charges may apply — refer to DFCC tariffs for details.
Can I use my DFCC ATM card globally?
Yes. In certain cases where your account is subject to specific regulatory guidelines, card usage will be restricted to domestic transactions within Sri Lanka.
What are DFCC's bank code and SWIFT code?
Bank Code: 7162. SWIFT Code: DFCCCLKLX.
Are cheque deposit boxes available at DFCC branches?
Yes. Cheque deposit boxes are available at all branches during both banking and non-banking hours.
How long does it take to clear a cheque between two DFCC accounts?
Cheques between two DFCC accounts are cleared on the same day, subject to availability of funds and all applicable terms being met.
Are safe deposit lockers available?
Yes. Safe deposit lockers are available at selected branches for Pinnacle customers. Please contact your assigned DFCC Relationship Manager after the transfer for details.
What happens to the existing SCB branches, including the Premier Centre?
All 7 existing SCB branches, including the Premier Centre, will operate as DFCC branches and/or Private Banking Centres upon completion of the transfer. If you are eligible for the DFCC Private Banking proposition, you will be informed of your assigned branch closer to the Transfer Date.
Who do I contact for queries before and after the transfer?
Before 17 July 2026: Please continue to contact Standard Chartered Bank's customer service for all account-related matters. From 17 July 2026 onwards: DFCC Bank's dedicated support teams will be available through branches, our contact centre, and digital channels. The Customer Support Number remains unchanged.
What happens to my child's savings account?
Children's savings accounts will also transfer to DFCC as part of this migration. All details will be reflected in the welcome letter issued to the guardian. Debit cards for children's accounts will be delivered separately via courier.
I am a new DFCC customer (no prior relationship). How will correspondence be managed?
All correspondence relating to your transferred SCB portfolio will be sent using the contact details registered with SCB — postal address, email, and mobile number.
